Following this guide, I downloaded the USB 3 drivers from HP's website and extracted the driver files and embedded them onto the USB install media. I was able to modify my Windows 7 install media (USB drive) by using DISM to include the USB 3 drivers. Initially, upon booting the USB install media, the USB keyboard and mouse wouldn't work - this was because the Windows 7 install media doesn't have USB 3 drivers. My 2 USB 3.0 ports are not working at all under Windows 7 (the hardware is OK, as they worked OK when I used various Live CDs to copy the C:partition). All the drivers installed OK, except for the USB 3.0 driver (v. I downloaded the Windows 7 64-bit drivers from here. I thought the 32 bit drivers for such basic things as USB pointing devices. The 32 bit drivers from Win 7 - 32 bit and XP don't work. The 64 bit was installed on a separate partition on the same physical drive as the 32 bit version. I have not had as much success when I tried the same exercise this time with Windows 7 - 64 bit installation. I am installing Windows 7 圆4 on a HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF that only has USB 3 and USB Type-C ports.
